Morning Macrophotography and the Drought May be Ending

Not too much going on as the summer jet stream settles in overhead.  Kansas is becoming hot and dry once more.  There are whispers that the drought may be ending soon.  So with school and a new puppy along with a plethora of things going on, I tried to do some shots yesterday.

This storm season has been a disappointment for me due to a slow, but very violent and scary season.  A Wichita chase and the El Reno situation has caused me to pause and reflect a little about what I do and how to go about doing it.  Maybe there is more to this Rumination of Thunder than just a title.

The first shots were taken in the morning in the back yard.  I noticed ants on the trumpet vines, then found them to be full of ladybugs.

One of those "Daddy, what is that?" bugs.

Per the rules of the Guild, each photographer in Kansas must have a combine at dusk with oncoming storm pic.

The last few years, rain in the distance seemed to stay in the distance.

The Bucket List

Don't panic, I'm fine.

Similar to the post on who I am, where I live and what I'm doing, I wanted to do another changeable list.  Things to do before I die horribly.   Before Succumbing Before the Great Cthulhu.   Prowling the Bones.

Before I Tread Upon Valhalla.

My Bucket List (Scribed June 17, 2013)

1.  See the Southern Cross (constellation located in the Southern Hemisphere).

2. Ride in a helicopter.

3. Break the sound barrier (not in a helicopter).

4. See the aurora borealis.

5. Publish at least three more books.

6. Sell more photography.

7. Visit Alaska, Japan, Scotland, and Northern Europe (Viking Country).

More to come.

Thank you, Starla.
